No Dying Light for the Xbox 360 and PS3.
By Sam Coles:
The upcoming free running open world zombie game Dying Light has had the plug pulled on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions due to technical limitations. The guys at Techland stated "Put simply, older consoles just couldn't run the game and stay true to the core vision of Dying Light at the same time," I know the 360 and PS3 have bigger install bases, but what people have to realise is that the Xbox 360 was released in 2005 and PS3 was released in 2006, these consoles are pushing a decade old and are out of date in terms of hardware, there is only so much you can do on old hardware.
Dying Light will be released January 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Battlefield Hardline Gets a Release Date.
By Sam Coles:
The urban warfare known as Battlefield Hardline has finally
got an official release date, as you all know the game was delayed from its
original release of October 2014. The game will be hitting the last and current
gen systems on the 20th of March 2015. The reasoning that EA gave
for delaying the game was that they wanted to make sure that the launch went as
smoothly as possible and not have a repeat of the unfinished state that
Battlefield 4 was in. Let’s face now games are getting bigger and more
expensive to make and I welcome a delay when it comes down to it and plus this
game is being created for 5 different systems so we to give them time.
So will you be getting Battlefield Hardline or are you tired
of the series? The game releases on the 20th of March 2015 on PS4,
PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition - Migrate from Games for Windows Live to Steam
By Sam Coles:
The original Dark Souls on the PC didn’t have the best of
starts when it was first released due to the fact it was a console port and had
muddy textures, it wasn’t until a member of the community created a patch to
fix all the problems.
Anyway from next month you can migrate your saves and game
from Dark Souls from the ill fated Games for Windows Live to Steam, so you can
export your character, progress and achievements over to Steam.

Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor Review - A Mature Middle Earth Tale.
By Sam Coles:
Games set in Tolkien’s world of Middle Earth have never
really transitioned well into the interactive art form, but Middle Earth Shadow
of Mordor maybe the first game that works with its dark and mature story and
gritty violence that you would expect from the residences of Mordor. Before I
hear you say that “This is an Assassin’s Creed knock off”. No it’s not, yes it
borrows a few things from that series but on its own it’s something new and
refreshing and unlike Assassin’s Creed it doesn’t expect you start a furniture
business.
The story is that you play as Talion a Ranger who is having
a happy life with his wife and son until Sauron’s Generals invade and start
slaughtering every including Talion and his family. Death isn’t quite ready for
him as a wraith revives him. The wraith is a key character in the world Tolkien
as he is Celebrimbor
the forger of the rings of power and you must stop Sauron’s resurrection. The
Story is a dark and gritty take in the world of Middle Earth with darker themes,
but is a fairly generic revenge story.
The first thing that struck me were the visuals and it’s an absolutely
beautiful game with its green meadows glimmering in the sunshine, you would
think that it would grey and dark all the time as it’s set in Mordor, but this
is a time when Sauron wasn’t around so it’s civilized but not completely. Every
detail has been taken into consideration from the textures in the buildings to
you main character looking wet when it rains to the individually details and
characteristics of the Orcs. You’ll traverse different areas of Mordor from the
dark atmosphere of the black gates to beautiful and serene meadows before
Sauron’s corruption.
The gameplay takes a stealthy approach for the most part and you’ll be
sneaking around and slitting Orcs throats as you try to take down their War
Chief. Throughout your travels in Mordor you’ll be taking down the Orc armies
from your standard grunts, Captains and leaders. This is where the nemesis
system comes where it will display all the major generals and war chiefs in the
different areas of Mordor, but you can’t just go and kill them. No. You have to
go around and interrogate Orcs and gain intel of their weaknesses and location
this where the Wraith half of you comes into play, which will let you delve
into their minds and let you pick intel of certain captains and chiefs if they
are part of a certain tribe. If you fail to kill an Orc who is in the hierarchy
then he’ll gain power and be promoted or duel with another captain or take on
the war chief and this adds an organic nature to the game, it makes the world
feel alive, so it really encourages you to take your time when taking on certain
enemies and to plan ahead and not run in waving your sword about.
Along with your standard sword fighting skills you have a set of Wraith
powers which can range from a mystic bow and arrow known as elf shot to
extending that ability to teleport to your foes and knocking them unconscious.
These powers are varied and nicely balanced which will make you think in a
battle and take on different tactics if everything hits the fan and you’ll take
them out quickly and swiftly or the best option is to run when you’re surrounded.
All these abilities and weapons can be upgrade with the standard skill
tree where you get ability points to sink into new abilities or build upon
existing ones, you can buy upgrades with the in game currency which will extend
your maximum health or let you carry more elf shot arrows etc. Finally you can
equip runes to your weapons which can increase the chances of getting a
critical hit with your sword or gain a small percentage of your health back
when you perform a stealth kill with your dagger. You get these runes by
killing high ranking Orcs with in Sauron’s army and they’ll different levels of
power and rarity.
The sound design and music is fantastic in this game the sounds when you’re
in a fight is excellent, you hear every strike when slash your blade into the Orc’s
skin and the bones crunch when you decapitate them and see the blood flying
everywhere. The soundtrack has a sort of tribal feeling to it which is fitting
when you are mostly battling Orc tribal chiefs, the music when you’re fighting the
war chiefs is tense with the heavy war drums thumping and the other orcs
chanting the name of the war chief as he edges closer to you with a menacing grimace.
The few nitpicks that I have with this game is one: when you meet the
captains or war chiefs it will play this short animation where your weapons
clash and you’ll exchange insults and yeah this cool the first few times, but
it happens every time even when you’ve met before, it would been nice to be
able to skip it. The other problem is that I have with this game is that there
some major difficulty spikes in the game when you fight some war chiefs because
with some of them you’ll be fighting them and three or four captains at the
same time and you’ll get your arse handed to you.
Overall I found that I really enjoyed Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor it’s
the first really good game set in Tolkien’s universe and I would highly
recommend playing it if you have a PS4, Xbox One or PC if don’t have any of the
current gen consoles yet, then wait for the last gen versions to hit in November.

Rockstar Verified Update: 10 New Cloud Piercing Air Races.
By Sam Coles:
With the recent release of the latest update in the form of the flight school of San Andreas with GTA Online more jobs have been approved by Rockstar that will be included to the public. These jobs are:
Dedalus - created by jjjpelo
"Easy," reads the one-word description for jjjpelo's long loop along the coastline, but in reality it's anything but. The Swift is the default choice of chopper, and its maneuverability and speed make it an excellent fit. If you're not too busy getting in the blades of your opponents, look out for great views across the city as you climb over the Land Act Dam.
Heli Low Fly Zone - created by LoneWolfOfNorth
The introduction of San Andreas Flight School to GTA Online has arguably increased the skill of local pilots, while at the same time encouraged greater recklessness. This creation from LoneWolfOfNorth features some of the most difficult low flying sections we have seen, to the point where we wondered if it could even be classed as flying. We think that this will be a Race that many players will come back to again and again, especially to try and beat the three-minute Lap challenge laid down in the description.
Dusk - created by GunterDaPenguin
GunterDaPenguin has made the city the star of this Besra Race, a north to south tour at a time of day (hence the title) when the world beneath your wings has a stunning amber glow. Not that it's advised to spend too long sightseeing - challenging sections weaving through wind turbines and knifing between skyscrapers should keep your attention on the stick.
Pylon Slalom - created by conororor
Conventional logic would suggest that spinning helicopter blades and overhead power cables are rarely a good mix - but conororor has disregarded this completely and created a fun aerial slalom between pylons in the Besra. Quick reactions and close control over your plane's rudders (L1/LB and R1/RB buttons) are a must.
Sprunk Air Race #1 - created by kapnkyle
This Mallard Stunt Race is as extreme as the benzene-packed drink from which it takes its name. Loops and tight turns in the skies above Vespucci Beach make for an entertaining test for the most able pilots. Non-Contact is selected by default and we recommend keeping it that way, unless mid-air collisions are your idea of a day at the beach.
Runners-Up
After School - created by KakoQR
The title couldn't me more fitting in this Air Race for San Andreas Flight School graduates looking to take the Besra Training Jet for an off-curriculum cruise. The route is varied, with sections under bridges and over the crest of a mountain, and we suggest keeping the time set to morning so you can enjoy the sunrise around Raton Canyon.
Chopper Bombing - created by passlake
This helicopter Race feels like a change from the norm right out of the gate, with players starting at the peak of Mt. Chiliad and immediately going into what is accurately described as a "near-suicidal descent", followed by a “treetop-trimming run through Paleto Bay”.
Chopper Killer - created by Liwetha
Another challenging race in the Swift helicopter, with players starting out at the docks and working their way through downtown, squeezing between buildings and climbing to pass over the Maze Bank Tower.
SA Flight School: Racing - created by DemonicStalkerr
This Race is pitched as a chance to put everything you've learned at the San Andreas Flight School to the test, and this proclamation is backed up with a series of tight turns, low flying sections and tight squeezes along its short route. The varied verticality, with some checkpoints requiring you to climb steeply and others forcing you to dive down under bridges, made the Race stand out from the rest.
The Flyby - created by Vance Burrito
Another great, high speed Jet Race with good variation. Highlights include dangerously low flying sections over the rooftops of Chumash beach houses and under bridges as you skim the water in Lago Zancudo, which are separated by a highly technical number of tight turns around the tower of the Fort Zancudo Military Base.
These jobs are playable now so grab some friends and go fly and blow each other up.

Dragon Age Inquistion: Character Creation Trailer.
By Sam Coles:
Bioware have released a new trailer showing the depth and complexity of the new character creator for Dragon Age Inquisition. The new character creator looks as if they’re going back to the days of Dragon Age Origins, when I say that I mean you can selected whatever race you want instead of the lack lustre creator in DA II where you could only be a male or female human with three different classes.
You could fiddle about with this feature for hours looking at this, where you can tweaking different parts of the characters face such eye height, skin complexion, skin colour, eye colour the list goes on.
Dragon Age Inquisition will be release on 21st of November on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
