Mortal Kombat X Announced!

By Sam Coles:

It's Been three long years since we got the reboot of the Mortal Kombat series on the Xbox 360 and the PS3, which was great comeback for the series after the game that was MK Vs DC, it wasn't a bad fighting game by any means, but it was a bit T rated for a lot of people.

After days of teasing on twitter and Facebook with the poster with the slogan "Who's Next" with a broken spine in the background we finally have some  supposedly gameplay, but in my opinion it looks like a CGI trailer. Once again it comes back in brutal fashion with Scorpion and Sub-Zero battling it out with Sub-Zero dying at the end of the trailer, the X-ray moves make a spectacular comeback with a bit of extra spice and they look more varied compared to MK 2011. The environment looks to be playing a bigger role in this one as Sub-Zero snaps off tree branches and smacks Scorpion in the face with it. Of course the Fatalities are back and are going to be just as brutal as ever, especially in glorious next-gen.

But what do you think? Are you excited for Mortal Kombat X? Or do you think the fighting genre struggles for relevance these days in triple A releases? Let me know in the comments or tweet @samcoles2 with the hash tag #bristoliangamer.
