E3 2015: Just Cause 3

Video Source: Kotaku.

By Sam Coles:

Just Cause 3 gets some chaotic gameplay with the trailer that Square Enix showed off during their conference. Displaying the new abilities that Rico has with his new and improved grapple hook which can have some devastating results such as attaching a rocket to a plane or making structures cave in on themselves with well placed hooks. Destruction looks amazing and looks as if you can pretty much destroy anything you see such as bridges, buildings to vehicles it all looks like some mindless fun that will entertain me for hours upon hours.

Just Cause 3 comes out December 1st on the PS4, Xbox One and PC.

E3 2015: Final Fantasy VII Remake.

By Sam Coles:

During the Sony press conference they gave Final Fantasy fans a massive surprise in the form of a teaser trailer of Final Fantasy Remake, this is something that the fans of the series have been asking for years and after that laughable reveal that they were bringing the PC version to PS4 they are giving use the real deal although it is very far away. The thing that bothers me about this trailer is that it is pre-rendered which doesn't bode well because it tells us nothing about what the game looks like, I think studios should take some aspects from Bethesda with Fallout 4 only show it if it is coming out this year or soon.

Final Fantasy VII will come to the PS4 first then Xbox One and PC at a later date I expect.

E3 2015: Star Wars Battlefront

Video Source: Gamerspawn

By Sam Coles:

We've been teased and teased with Star Wars Battlefront, but finally DICE showed it off during Sony's press conference. I must say that game looks absolutely stunning and almost photo-realistic with the environments you can really see that DICE have taken pride by getting the locales and it makes me doubly excited to get my hands on it this November. With DICE's reputation the sound design is amazing mixing the Star Wars sounds with the blasters with the crackles and explosions from Battlefield.

They showed off the battle of Hoth with the walker mode where you had to take down the generators as the imperials or destroy the walkers as the rebels. They also showed the co-op mode which in my opinion looks a tad boring because I'm really fed up with horded style gameplay it's been over done.

Star Wars Battlefront will hit PS4, Xbox One and PC on 20th of November.

E3 2015: Gears of War 4 and Gears of War Ultimate Edition.

By Sam Coles:

Microsoft showed off a brief glimpse of Gears of War 4 which looks absolutely stunning, however it doesn't look like it deviates from the other games in the series but let's wait and find out when it releases next year on Xbox One.

They also announced Gears of War Ultimate Edition which is a Remaster of the original Gears of War which include updated graphics and textures running at 60 frames per second and 1080p and it comes with the multiplayer with all the DLC which some of it was only available on the PC version of the game. The game will also have the up to date gameplay features that are from Gears of War 3 to make the game less clunky. The game will release in August on the Xbox One so you don't have to wait long.

E3 2015: Fallout 4.

Video Source: IGN

By Sam Coles:

Bethesda have certainly kicked off E3 with a bang this year by showing off Doom first and then they gave a us an extensive look at Fallout 4. Fallout 4 seems to have a more robust character creator rather than a awkward slider menu, you can now mauled your character like a sculptor whether it be male or female.

The main character for the first time will now have a voice and will interact with other characters rather than he or she just stood staring blankly. The graphics seem to look much better compared to the reveal trailer because a lot of gamers and critics a like were saying the graphics character models especially look last gen, but it doesn't seem to be the case in this gameplay footage they showed. The environments look lush and vibrant and you don't just get the brown and grey hues that were present in the last two game, it has colour for once.

Fallout 4 will release on the 10th of November 2015 on PC, PS4 and Xbox one.

E3 2015: DOOM Gameplay.

By Sam Coles:
Bethesda kicks off E3 by finally showing off a public demo of DOOM which is playing in id Software's new engine id Tech 6 which looks very good with dynamic lighting and particle effects when bullets ricochet off surfaces and with the explosions. The game seems to take things from the modded version of Doom Brutal Doom with the over the top violence and executions. The game looks great but I feel that it’s not doing anything ground breaking and may struggle with relevancy in this day and age because Doom has no need to be edgy anymore. The game will feature old school multiplayer which be 4 v 4 and will release in 2016 on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.

Wolfenstein: The Old Blood Trailer.

By Sam Coles:

My number 1 game of 2014 Wolfenstein The New Order gets a stand-alone expansion in the form of Wolfenstein The Old Blood. This expansion takes place before The New Order during 1946 where you first infiltrate Castle Wolfenstein to find files about the dastardly villain General Deathshead. In the second half of the game you’ll traverse an archaeological dig site to take down a head Nazi researcher.

This game will be available in May of 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC if you haven’t played Wolfenstein The New Order then go and buy it it’s really cheap now and it’s a fantastic thrill ride with an interesting setting and characters.

Mortal Kombat X: Brutalities.

By Sam Coles:
Mortal Kombat has always been about the finishers known as Fatalities to humiliate your opponent, but the one finisher that we haven’t seen since Mortal Kombat Trilogy is the Brutality. The guys at Netherrealms studios have heard are cries and have announced that Brutalities are making a comeback in Mortal Kombat X. Similar to Killer Instinct’s Ultra Combos these are deadly combos that kill you in brutal ways and unlike Mortal Kombat Trilogy where they simply just explode, they can be sliced in half or have their head explode.
Mortal Kombat X releases on April 14th on Xbox One, PS4, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.

Mortal Kombat X: Ermac Revealed

By Sam Coles:

Trailer Source: IGN

Netherrealms keeping rolling out new characters and fan favourites for the upcoming Mortal Kombat X and the new character that was revealed was the mind binding and multiple souled ninja Ermac. Ermac's move set looks to be completely telepathic and does seem to engage his opponents with any physical contact which looks intriguing. Mortal Kombat X releases April 14th on Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC. Who's next?

Mortal Komat X: Reptile Revealed.

By Sam Coles:

Trailer Source: IGN

The infamous green ninja from the original Mortal Kombat game Reptile has finally been revealed for Mortal Kombat X. It shows off his fast paced fighting style and I have to say he has proved to be the most brutal character out of them all especially with the X-ray moves his Fatality. His character type looks to be nimble and quick which would suit someone who likes more speed and agility rather than power. Mortal Kombat X releases on PS4, Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on April 14th. Who’s next?

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt - Elder Blood Trailer.

By Sam Coles:

During the weekend of the Playstation experience a new trailer for the latest Witcher game has surfaced explaining a tiny bit more of the new characters and dangers that you’ll be facing. By the look of this trailer this game may take place after Andrzej Sapkowski’s third book Time of Contempt because half way through the third book the ashen haired girl Ciri goes on the run from the Wild Hunt and joins a group of bandit elves. This game looks to be more and more impressive every time I see new gameplay for it and this game series enriches the lore that I love with the book series.

The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt will be released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC on the 24th of February 2015.

Grand Theft Auto V gets pulled from Target Australia Shelves.

By Sam Coles:
A few days ago a petition on change.org appeared from feminists about Rockstar’s latest open world game Grand Theft Auto V and that it’s about violent acts against women and it’s the sole purpose of the game that you can abuse and kill women despite the fact that is not true it’s a sandbox game you can do whatever you want.
So in the petition they want to pull GTA V from Target store shelves and most people would laugh at this tell them go back under their rock and brush it off, but oh no! They’re serious you want to know how serious let’s say over 40,000 signatures worth of serious which absolutely boggles my mind how anyone could look at this and can keep a straight face. Unfortunately Target in Australia have taken the games down, but they said they will carry on stocking mature rated games and film in their store which is so hypocritical that it aggravates me.
The weak sauce excuse that they put in this petition is that “It’s teaching little boys to beat up women” which is completely false because you can do whatever you want to in an open world game if you want to run over some with a car you can, if you want to grab a machine gun and go on a rampage you can or hell you grab a helicopter fly to the highest point and land on someone, but besides that this game is set in the criminal underworld the themes are going to be dark and gritty and as CEO of Take 2 said “it’s art but it’s gritty”. The main point of that statement that I want to talk about is this what does it say on the front and back of the box? It says that it is rated 18+ and is unsuitable for players under the age of 18 in Australia and here in the United Kingdom so it’s not the game developers fault that it gets into children’s hands it’s the parents so news flash parents this game is not for kids and don’t buy the game for them you wouldn’t buy them a 18+ film.
At the moment I just want to know what the hell is going on the industry from the Hatred game to the fact that your main protagonist isn’t female why is everyone suddenly analysing games like this I wish people could have fun in any industry and not the just gaming industry. This whole situation is becoming censorship because art has a right to be released despite opinion and if you don’t like ignore it or critique in a mature manner rather than just saying that it’s “shit”. I hope you change your mind Target Australia because this is absolutely ridiculous and is complete censorship get your act together and ignore this preposterous petition.

Batman Arkham Knight Gameplay Trailer Ace Chemicals.

Trailer source:

By Sam Coles:

So it’s been a while since we’ve seen anything about the latest Batman game from Rocksteady Arkham Knight, the last time we saw anything substantial was E3 2014 which was an impressive demo.

We get a new gameplay trailer in the form of the “Ace Chemicals infiltration” which shows of Bat’s moves and skill set to take down the goons of Gotham city such as the standard slew of sneak attacks and brutal hand to hand combat which looks to be bone crushingly satisfying. Also we got to see the more action from the Batmobile which looks as if you can upgrade the vehicle with different gadgets to help you get a round.
Batman Arkham Knight releases on the 2nd of June 2015 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.

You also get access to new maps called On Giants of Karelia, Hammerhead, Hangar 21, and Operation Whiteout for the epic conclusion of the multiplayer of Battlefield 4 (if it works).

Assassin's Creed: Unity dropping to Unplayable Frame Rates.

By Sam Coles:

The damn has finally collapsed with Assassin’s Creed Unity as the standard for the latest AC game unfortunately has gone down not visually that aspect has been nailed to a certain extent. The main problem that gamers and critics a like are having is the fact the game is running at an abysmal frame rate, players are reporting that the game is running at 20 or hell on the PS4 version sub 20 frames per second.

Unfortunately this isn’t the first problem that Ubisoft have had this year Watch Dogs it was a good game, but was released with horrendous bugs and glitches especially on the PC version. The Crew’s Beta was bug ridden and glitched mess and don’t say “it’s a beta what do you expect” the game is out in three weeks these problems should be ironed out by now.

These sort of frame rate issues are not universal with all parts of the game just certain scenes which the main one being when there are 1000’s of NPC’s on the screen and so the PS4 and Xbox One has trouble comprehending what’s on screen.

Lets wait and see what happens with this game and hope that this gets fixed fast and lets also hope that we don’t get half a job from FarCry 4 when it drops next week, but looking at these problems it looks to be the hardware and not the software. This is not the "Next Gen" experience we hoped for with Assassin's Creed.

The question is what console are you getting this game on out of the new generation.

Grand Theft Auto Online Xbox One and PS4 Screenshots.

By Sam Coles:
We are nearly there for the release of Grand Theft Auto V on the PS4 and Xbox One so Rockstar have rolled out some new screenshots but not for the singleplayer but for the multiplayer. The Landscape seems to look more detailed compared to the Xbox 360 and PS3 version and it looks as there is more traffic in the online mode because that was a major problem in the online that there would be no traffic at all. Check out the screens below:

Dragon Age: Inquisition Gameplay Features – Choice & Consequence

By Sam Coles:

The finally gameplay video that introduces us to the world of the latest instalment of Bioware’s epic fantasy RPG. The trailer introduces to the social elements of the game with NPCs and your party members, this rang from what gender you are, what race you are such as if you are a human you’ll be welcomed to most places but on the other hand if you are elf you maybe meet with resistance. Party members are very important in this instalment and if you do something that your party member disagrees with then he or she may leave your party.

Dragon Age Inquisition release on the 21st of Novemeber on PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PC.
